despite being in some kind of lockdown situation in a hotel all weekend, i managed to see two amazing shows. a simple sentence, rarely spoken. by me, anyway. maybe you already know about chad vangaalen, but he’s a new discovery for me. and check this out! he makes the cartoons! his show on thursday with fond of tigers, who blasted us with mathy goodness, got me all turned on for the rock and roll again. and then saturday, the fits had the honour of opening for geoff berner and his angry accordion and then i was rocked AGAIN by chariots of eggs. my new favorite locals, so new that they have no recordings. get in the studio, eggs!
