lagari, madame claude, josetti

we had a grand time at lagari on wednesday night.   a little room, disco lights, friends, wine, spring break up.  and i’ve hopped onto a gig at madame claude’s on oct 6, part of their 4 track series. also exciting, my hosts gregor and christoph at the josetti hof will have a concert on saturday afternoon, sept 26. they are going to haul the pianos into the courtyard and play music in the air. i love pianos in the air. i’ve seen two buskers with upright pianos on the street in our neighbourhood. good to know that there is always options for gigging, even if the canadian government pulls all the arts funding in the world. grab your coat and your popular music, we’re taking it to the streets.

  1. Sounds like fun, but something tells me that the concert on the 20th will be even better…;-)

  2. ha! i know now what it is, that makes my eyes fill with tears everytime i see you play live, as i told you, for pure bliss and joy! it’s got something to do with yr music supplying me with some sort of strength so as to be able (or at least: feel able during that very moment) to put up the fight, to ENDURE this crappy and sad and scary life….and that thus everything seems OK somehow……or something like that, can’t make myself clear, i’m afraid…. 🙂

  3. dennis, you are marvelously clear. thank you. xxx v

  4. I knew it, I knew it. The concert on the 20th was better;-).

Well, Veda live is extremely fun. Amazing musician, both as a vocalist and a pianist – kinda scary how she can play the piano, the keyboard and sing simultaneously, and really fast in all three departments!

She is full of energy, and very sweet.

The studio was full, and she played some favourites from Field Study, Return of the Kildeer, This Riot Life, and Do You Wnat What I Have Got?.

Just a memorable show. Wish everyone could have a real “Veda experience”.

Kim Barlow was also very sweet on stage, and so was the German trio playing some really emotional Brecht pieces.

I will keep this one in my heart.

    Thanks, Veda!
