a quick update: our duplex and vh shows may 7-10 at the vancouver east cultural centre have been postponed due to tardy renovations at our favourite theatre. we are now looking at dates in december. there will be a duplex show in june, when the new record is ready, and possibly something with the vh band too. we’ll keep you posted, and best of luck to the cultch in hopefully being ready for september. this is a picture of our upstairs neighbours holden and etienne. their father came in to find them prone on the floor, listening to me practicing. i can hear holden right now, actually, singing the back-up part to Ace of the Nazarene. so excellent.

hello peoples. the frenzy of posting has clearly diminished, partly due to a pleasant few weeks spent in toronto. a few shows with ivan coyote and young anders’ debut in the hogtown scene. all went well, he charmed them all of course. and now what?
well, things are rolling right along. the new duplex album Worser will be released on may 7 with a fun gig at the cultch. and pizza! and i now reveal to you that the new VH record Young Saint Marie will be coming out this summer. this of course is the album of buffy saint marie and neil young songs, recorded with my band and the CBC radio orchestra, respectively. we’ll be giving you the chance to pre-order soon, so that we can whip them off the press and straight into happy little envelopes for you. other news? the craigslist cantata will be performed this summer at the vancouver folk music festival and the salmon arm roots and blues festival. jack pine continues to tour the schools and i get really darling letters from the keener classrooms. very gratifying. i have a little photo project that i’m doing for the DOXA film festival, and christof migone and i are preparing for our first ever live performances of escape songs in montreal and toronto. gosh, it seems a little busy now that i write it all down. wish me luck, i’m off to sleepytime.
